The 'Strawberry Moon' from atop the reservoir on University Hill in Eugene, on a mid-June night. This was captured about 15 minutes right after the moon rose, as I experimented with different exposures and battled with breezes and a teetering tripod. This was taken at the complete focal size of my 55-250mm f/4. Canon EF-S lens - the latest acquisition of which inspired me to try my hand at the Moon.

Two other photographers captured the moonrise with me, and Katrina was there as well. I had prepared to commit far more time with her, but the images subject matter was difficult. I really needed to chill out and think the meter readings and the histogram in order to get the contrast I truly needed.
